BASF: EU approves deal with LetterOne
(CercleFinance.com) - Germany's BASF and Luxembourg's LetterOne have won EU approval for their plan to merge their businesses in the exploration and production of oil and gas.
The Commission has concluded that the deal would raise no competition concerns because of the companies' moderate market shares and the presence of alternative suppliers on the market.
Last year BASF and LetterOne announced plans to merge their oil and gas subsidiaries, Wintershall and DEA.
