Volkswagen: restarts project to float Traton
(CercleFinance.com) - Volkswagen said it has made "important strategic decisions" at the group's supervisory board meeting yesterday, including the preparation for the flotation of if truck and bus division Traton.
In a statement on Monday, the German auto giant said that it plans for Traton's IPO to be launched "before the 2019 summer break."
In March, Volkswagen decided not to continue with preparations for an IPO of Traton, in light of the difficult market conditions at the time.
Yesterday, VW's supervisory board also approved investments of just under one billion euros, saying that it plans to locate a battery cell production facility in Lower Saxony (Salzgitter).
Volkswagen is holding its annual general meeting in Berlin today.
