ThyssenKrupp: CEO wants to leave; discords prevail

(CercleFinance.com) - It comes as a surprise: ThyssenKrupp's CEO, Heinrich Hiesinger, has told the group's supervisory board and employee representative bodies that he wants to step down, the industrial group announced this morning.

This untimely announcement comes after the conclusion of the merger of the German group's European steel activities with those of Tata Steel. This will indeed be a new step in redefining ThyssenKrupp's consolidation scope.

Mr Hiesinger says, “I take this step very consciously to enable a fundamental discussion in the Supervisory Board on the future of thyssenkrupp. A joint understanding of Board and Supervisory Board on the strategic direction of a company is a key pre-requisite for successfully leading a company.”
