Siemens: contract for Singapore Metro

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Mobility, the German conglomerate's rail division, has been selected to provide signalling and traffic management systems for the extension of Singapore's automated metro line 3.


The deal has an estimated value of around 90 million euros.

The 2.2-kilometre (with two additional stations) extension is set to be completed in 2024. Up to 500,000 people use this line per day, will henceforth be over 44 kilometres long, with 36 stations. It will be the largest fully automated metro line in the world.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA), Singapore's transport authority is the prime contractor.
