Daimler: Mercedes and Siemens sign strategic partnership
(CercleFinance.com) - Daimler has announced a "strategic partnership" between Mercedes-Benz and Siemens, aimed at developing sustainable automotive production.
As Daimler seeks to digitise its production processes, advanced automation and software solutions from Siemens are laying the groundwork for the digital transformation of automotive production, it says.
Under this deal, the Mercedes-Benz Berlin-Marienfelde (Germany) site will be the technological and digital core of the entire Mercedes-Benz Cars production network. Its aim will be to deploy the new developments that have been tested in Berlin at Mercedes-Benz factories worldwide.
Michael Müller, the mayor of Berlin, has already announced that the city will sponsor this partnership which will create jobs and training in the German capital.
