Merck KGaA: collaboration for a rapid Covid test
(CercleFinance.com) - On Friday Merck announced that it will collaborate with Mammoth Biosciences to help the latter market a large-scale rapid test against Covid-19.
Under the terms of the agreement, the German group will become the reference manufacturer of the "Detectr Boost" kit developed by the San Francisco-based company.
Mammoth's high-throughput system allows nasal swabs and saliva samples to be processed at a rate of 1,500 tests per workstation every eight hours, with minimal interaction with patients.
Mammoth Biosciences plans to file an application with the FDA, for emergency approval of its product by the end of the year.
