Infineon: to collaborate with Synopsys on AI applications
(CercleFinance.com) - German chipmaker Infineon is teaming up with US software maker Synopsys to develop an artificial intelligence application for the auto sector.
The collaboration will combine Infineon's next generation microcontrollers and Synopsys' processor IP, integrating a new high-performance AI processing unit, the companies said on Tuesday.
The partnership will prepare both companies for data-hungry automotive applications, such as zone controllers, engine management, electro-mobility and advanced driver assistance systems, they said.
Silicon Valley-based Synopsys provides software applications for electronic design automation and semiconductor IP, mainly to system-on-chip (SoC) designers.
