Deutsche Börse: agrees to pay fines of over 10 million euros

(CercleFinance.com) - Deutsche Börse has agreed to pay two fines of 5 million euros and 5.
5 million euros to end further investigations.

The German financial markets operator said that it plans to inform the Frankfurt Public Prosecutor that it would accept the fines announced relating to two cases.

The cases relate to an alleged violation of the prohibition against insider trading in December 2015 and an alleged failure to publish an ad hoc announcement in January 2016.

Deutsche Börse has said that it has accepted the fines in order to protect the company's interests and to focus on its growth program.

Joachim Faber, chairman of the supervisory board, however said it was "one of the most difficult decisions (he) has faced."
