BMW: posts record October sales, volumes up 1.7%

7% last month to 204,295 vehicles, representing a new record for a month of October, the German carmaker said on Friday.
Figures were once again lifted by a surge in demand from China, the group's largest market, where sales jumped by 8.8% last month.
"Our model offensive continues to have a positive impact," said Pieter Nota, member of BMW's management board responsible for customers, brands and sales.
He said electrified vehicle sales achieved a "solid increase" of 8.6% in October sales.
BMW brand sales rose 3% to 176,291 vehicles in October, while Mini sales fell by 6.2% to 27,589 cars.
Deliveries year-to-date were up 1.7% year-on-year, the company added, with 2,070,496 BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce vehicles sold, driven by a 2.3% volume gain at its BMW brand.
The BMW share was up a fraction (+0.1%) in Frankfurt after these figures were published.
