BMW: group sales up 0.7% in June
(CercleFinance.com) - German premium carmaker BMW said group sales in June rose by 0.
7% to 240,674 vehicles, a new record for that month.
Growth was lifted again by its largest market, China, where sales of its BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce brands jumped by 20.9% to 61,564 vehicles last month.
Group sales for the six first months of the year edged 0.8% higher, above the threshold of 1.25 million vehicles for the first time in the first half of the year.
"We were able to counter the trend and grow sales above market, thereby gaining further market share," said Pieter Nota, BMW sales chief said, citing "volatility" in several markets around the world.
