BMW: joint venture for electric Mini in China
(CercleFinance.com) - The BMW Group and Great Wall Motor have signed a joint venture agreement for the manufacture of the electric MINI in China, the German car maker said this morning.
The agreement was formalised at the Sino-German summit, where the Chinese Prime minister, Li Keqiang, met the the German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Called "Spotlight Automotive Limited", the joint venture will also produce electric vehicles for Great Wall Motor.
It will be located in the Jiangsu Province, where both partners will create a state-of-the-art production facility.
