BMW: plans Mini electric vehicles in China
(CercleFinance.com) - BMW Group has signed a letter of intent with Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor for the production of electric Mini vehicles, the German car maker said on Friday.
While in advanced talks, both partners have yet to agree on the details of the joint venture and to clarify other aspects, such as the choice of plant location, BMW said.
In 2017, China was Mini's fourth-largest market.
Independently, BMW said it also plans to further expand its joint venture in China with existing local partner Brilliance.
