BMW: 200 million euro investment for battery cell center.
(CercleFinance.com) - BMW Group plans to invest 200 million euros over the next four years in a new battery cell competence center that will be found in Munich, creating 200 jobs.
The plant aims to advance battery cell technology and introduce it into production processes as the German carmaker is already developing the fifth generation of its electric drivetrain, which is scheduled for release in 2021.
The centre will open in early 2019.
