BMW: big offensive in electric vehicles.
(CercleFinance.com) - Today it was learned that BMW Group will unveil a new zero-emission opus at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which will kick off next Thursday.
This 4-door model will be positioned between the BMW i3 and the BMW i8, said the Munich based car maker.
By 2025, the group intends to extend its range to 25 electrified models, of which twelve will be 100% carbon-free.
Meanwhile, in 2021, BMW will introduce the fifth generation of 100%-electric powertrain, with the BMW iNEXT 2021.
The group will also invest 200 million euros in the R&D center for technology on new batteries, in order to have full technical control of its systems.
Last but not least, all types of motors (electrified and thermal) will be available on all models in the range from 2020 onwards.
