UBS: begins process to select new CEO?
(CercleFinance.com) - Axel Weber, the chairman of UBS' board of directors, said in a Bloomberg TV interview that the group was at the very start of finding a successor to its CEO, Sergio Ermotti.
Axel Weber told Bloomberg that nothing urgent is yet to be noted, Aurel BGC said this morning.
The news agency last week said that the group's management was in talks with former BoA investment bank boss Christien Meissner, Aurel BGC says. He could indeed be approached to take over from Sergio Ermotti, along with several other potential candidates.
Also note that last Thursday Axel Weber said in an interview with the Swiss newspaper Tages Anzeiger that he was not considering a merger for his group. He said that there is a lot of talk about mergers in Europe and the US, although nothing is actually coming to fruition - it is just speculation.
