(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday Swiss private bank Julius Baer named 48-year-old Philipp Rickenbacher to take over as chief executive from 1 September, replacing Bernhard Hodler after just two years in office.

Philipp Rickenbacher is currently the head of intermediaries and global custody. Prior to that, he was responsible for the development of the bank's innovative advisory approach and "holistic" wealth management solutions.

He joined Julius Baer in 2004 from consultancy giant McKinsey & Company.

Bernhard Hodler has been with the company for 21 years and CEO since 2017.
