ABB: major contract with Astilleros Gondán
(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss engineering group ABB has announced a major contract with thz Spanish shipbuilder Astilleros Gondán to provide a fully electric power solution for ten new urban passenger ferries operating on the Tagus River in Lisbon, Portugal.
The ten new ferries will be operated by the state-owned ferry company Transtejo, SA and will replace the existing fleet when they enter service between 2022 and 2024.
The fleet renewal project represents a major commitment by Lisbon city planners to accelerate the introduction of net zero public transport solutions.
