ABB: to develop flash-charging bus with China's King Long
(CercleFinance.com) - ABB has signed an agreement with Chinese autonomous bus maker King Long Motor to jointly develop a bus with the world's fastest flash-charger.
The e-bus will feature ABB's flash-charging system that tops up the battery in just seconds while passengers get on and off the bus, avoiding the need to take the vehicle out of service for recharging every few hours.
China is currently the world's biggest market for e-buses, with the government prioritizing electrification of the public transportation system to reduce pollution and expensive oil imports.
