ABB: wins order for offshore wind project in North Sea
(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss-Swedish group ABB announced that it has won a contract for high-performance transformers to be installed in an offshore wind project that will provide power for up to a million homes in the UK.
ABB has won the order from Denmark's Vestas to supply 100 transformers for installation in enormous wind turbines for a farm located 22 kilometres off the coast of Scotland, the group said.
The transformers will be manufactured in ABB's transformer factory in Vaasa, Finland.
