ABB: to build advanced robotics factory in China
(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss engineering firm ABB plans to invest 150 million dollars to build an advanced robotics factory in Shanghai, the company said on Monday.
The new manufacturing facility - where robots make robots - will combine the company's connected digital technologies, state-of-the-art collaborative robotics and innovative artificial intelligence research, ABB said in a statement.
The plant is expected to begin operating by the end of 2020.
China is currently the world's largest robotics market. In 2017, a third of robots sold in the world went to China.
