LafargeHolcim: pretty upbeat about 2019

(CercleFinance.com) - The Franco-Swiss cement manufacturer LafargeHolcim has published annual accounts that are in line with expectations and is fairly confident about 2019.

The group ended 2018 with sales of 27.5 billion Swiss francs (+1.6% as reported), up 5.1% in organic terms, which was also the case in the fourth quarter.

Although up 3.6% in organic terms, recurrent EBITDA increased by 0.4% to 6 billion Swiss francs, bringing the group's margin from 22.2 to 21.9%. Finally, net income rose by 10.8% to 1.6 billion Swiss francs (2.63 Swiss francs per share).

At its AGM, the group will offer to pay a dividend of 2 Swiss francs, with the possibility of receiving this in cash or shares (at a discount for payment in shares).

The group expects the momentum to continue accelerating in 2019, which furthermore expects robust demand, with like-for-like net sales growth of 3% to 5%, and recurrent EBITDA that is up at least 5%, again on a comparable basis.
