Roche: successful trial in Covid-19 prevention
(CercleFinance.com) - Roche confirms positive results from the phase III REGN-COV 2069 trial evaluating the ability of the casirivimab-imdevimab cocktail to reduce the risk and burden of Covid-19 infection among household contacts of SARS-CoV-2 infected people.
The trial met its primary secondary endpoints, showing that subcutaneous administration reduced the risk of symptomatic infections by 81% in those who were not infected at the time of their entry into the trial.
In addition, people treated with casirivimab and imdevimab who still had a symptomatic infection resolved their symptoms in an average of just one week, compared to three weeks with placebo. No new or serious safety signals were observed.
