Roche: CHMP greenlights lung cancer drug

(CercleFinance.com) - Roche announces that the CHMP of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) has recommended the approval of Tecentriq as a first-line treatment for adults with a type of metastatic non-small cell lung cancer.

This positive opinion covers cancers with tumours have high PD-L1 expression*, with no epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) or anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) genomic tumour aberrations

Based on this recommendation, based on the IMpower110 phase III study, which showed a significant improvement in overall survival, a final decision on this indication is expected from the European Commission in the near future.

The Roche share is up about 0.3% on Friday afternoon, in line with the index in Zurich.
