Roche: two drugs show encouraging results in studies
(CercleFinance.com) - Two new Roche drugs from have produced encouraging results in clinical trials, the Swiss drugmaker said on Thursday.
Roche's Tecentriq, taken as an initial monotherapy, helped certain people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer live longer compared with chemotherapy, the group said.
The study met its primary endpoint in an interim analysis showing that Tecentriq demonstrated a statistically significant overall survival benefit in people with high PD-L1 expression compared with chemotherapy alone.
Roche now plans to submit this data to global health authorities, including the FDA.
Alongside this, Roche said its satralizumab significantly reduced relapse risk in second positive phase III study for neuromyelitis optica spectrum, a rare, debilitating disease of the central nervous system.
