(CercleFinance.com) - Roche is making progress in biomarker science, a technology allowing personalisation of cancer immunotherapy by delivering treatments tailored to the specific immune biology associated with a person's tumour, the company said on Friday.
The Swiss drugmaker plans to present first data on a novel blood-based assay co-developed with Foundation Medicine during the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress beginning today in Madrid.
The new data presented at ESMO demonstrates for the first time that a blood-based tumour mutational burden (TMB) test can measure TMB with a high degree of precision and accuracy.
Roche is currently developing twenty cancer immunotherapy medicines.
