Bombardier: another contract for consortium with Alstom

(CercleFinance.com) - The consortium comprised of Bombardier Transport and Alstom has announced that it signed an initial purchase agreement dated October 2010, with Société de Transport de Montréal (STM), on the set of 153 additional metro cars.

“The value of this new order is approximately $448 million CDN ($340 million US, 299 million euro). Bombardier's share is valued at $281 million CDN ($213 million US, 188 million euro), and Alstom's share is valued at $167 million CDN," Bombardier and Alstom said.

Most of the manufacturing and the total of the final assembly of these additional vehicles will be undertaken at Bombardier's facility in La Pocatière, in the Bas St-Laurent region of Québec. Alstom is once again supplying bogies and engines as well as train control, communication, passenger information and CCTV systems.
