bpost: final dividend to be merely canceled
(CercleFinance.com) - Belgian postal company bpost is proposing to shareholders a cancellation of its May 2020 final dividend payment, citing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The group said it will propose to the ordinary general meeting of shareholders, scheduled for 13 May, to distribute a gross dividend per share on the results of full year 2019 of 0.62 euro, instead of 0.73 euro, as announced earlier this month.
The move would mean that, since an interim dividend of 0.62 euro had been already paid in December, no further incremental dividend on its 2019 results will be paid, bpost said.
The company pointed out the "uncertain length" and "severity" of the current crisis and its impact on the group.
