Solvay: divests businesses to Latour Capital
(CercleFinance.com) - Solvay has announced an agreement with Latour Capital for the sale of its technical grade barium and strontium businesses in Germany, Spain and Mexico, as well as its sodium percarbonate business in Germany.
Solvay's joint venture with Chemical Products Corporation (CPC) is also part of the deal.
The agreement is a key step in the process of streamlining Solvay's portfolio and will enable the company to move away from its niche position in technical grade chemicals, the company says.
The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2021, subject to approval by the relevant regulatory authorities.
