(CercleFinance.com) - Schlumberger today announced the acquisition of a 51% stake in the Russian company Eurasia Drilling Company (EDC).
The oil services giant did not specify any of the deal's financial terms, which remain subject to approval from the Russian federal authority in charge of competition.
EDC is the leading provider of drilling services in Russia - both onshore and offshore.
EDC's CEO Alexander Djaparidze has said that the group "warmly welcomes Schlumberger as a majority shareholder."
