Visa: towards global extension of Click to Pay

(CercleFinance.com) - American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa have announced the start of technical preparations to extend the Click to Pay online payment option, based on the EMV Secure Remote Commerce standard, to new countries.


The 14 countries include Saudi Arabia, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Mexico, the UK and Singapore, with more markets to follow.

In October 2019, the four companies announced the launch of this universal digital payment solution in the United States. Since then, over 10,000 merchants now offer this payment option to their customers.
