Tesla: suspends production at Fremont, NY factories

(CercleFinance.com) - Tesla said that it has decided to temporarily suspend production at its factories in Fremont, California, and New York after meeting with local, state and federal officials.


Operations at others facilities will continue, including Nevada, as will its service and supercharging network, the electric car maker said.

In many locations, Tesla is implementing "touchless deliveries" so customers can continue to have their vehicles delivered in a contactless and safe way, it said.

The company added that it had 6.3 billion dollars in cash at the end of the fourth quarter, before its recent 2.3 billion dollar capital raise, which it believes to be sufficient "to successfully navigate an extended period of uncertainty."
