Target: to launch new share buyback plan

(CercleFinance.com) - Target Corporation will launch a new 5 billion dollar share buyback program, the US supermarket group said on Thursday.


The discount retailer said that it will begin repurchasing shares under this new authorization upon completion of the current 5 billion dollar program, which is expected to be implemented next year.

Target also announced that its board of directors has declared a quarterly dividend of 66 cents per common share.

This is the 209th consecutive dividend paid by the company since the company's IPO in October 1967.
