News Corp: Q1 EPS up a third
(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday evening News Corp, the parent company of Dow Jones, HarperCollins and Foxtel, amongst others, reported adjusted EPS of 16 cents for Q1 2023-24, compared with 12 cents in Q1 a year ago.
NB: pmt -0.4%.
EBITDA for segments rose by 4% to $364m, thanks to cost savings that were notably thanks to its announced 5% headcount reductions, as well as a 1% increase in revenues to $2.5bn.
The latter was boosted by higher sales of physical books and robust growth in the Dow Jones professional information business, while real estate services were hit by a sluggish US housing market.
