Microsoft: wins 10 billion dollar contract with US defense

(CercleFinance.com) - Microsoft has been awarded a 10 billion dollar defense contract for cloud operations, the Pentagon said late on Friday.


The Redmond, Washington-based company has been awarded a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract over a period of 10 years.

Under the terms of the deal, Microsoft will provide commercial infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS) to support the Department of Defense's business and mission operations.
