McDonald's: buys voice-based conversational AI start-up

(CercleFinance.com) - McDonald's has acquired Apprente, a start-up that develops voice-based, conversational technology for customer service applications, the company said on Tuesday.


McDonald's said it has already assessed the technology developed by Apprente, founded in 2017 in Mountain View, California, at test restaurants.

Apprente technology is expected to enable faster, simpler and more accurate order taking at drive-through outlets, and in future may be incorporated into mobile ordering and at kiosks.
