KKR: to invest $800m to acquire 20% of Singtel
(CercleFinance.com) - KKR will commit up to S$1.
1bn (around 800m USD) for a 20% stake in Singtel's regional data center business. Singtel is Asia's leading communications technology group. KKR will have the option of increasing its stake to 25% by 2027. This collaboration is a first between Singtel and KKR, and enables Singtel to leverage KKR's expertise in investing in data centers and critical telecoms infrastructure worldwide. Proceeds from the transaction will be used to accelerate the expansion of regional data center operations in ASEAN markets including Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, while exploring markets such as Malaysia and others.
