J&J: FDA approves expanded indication for LINX

(CercleFinance.com) - Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson MedTech company, reported that the FDA has approved a label update to expand the availability of the LINX reflux management system to include Barrett's esophagus (BE) patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) symptoms.


The decision is based on a retrospective review of a 2021 study that found LINX to be safe and effective in managing GERD symptoms in BE patients.

Citing 'remarkable efficacy' Dr. John C. Lipham, bowel surgeon at USC's Keck Medicine, says this option will allow more GERD patients to be treated, offering 'much-needed relief from this disease and improved quality of life. '
