Goldman Sachs: EU clears acquisition of Prima

(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has announced that it has cleared the acquisition of Italian company Prima by three US firms - Blackstone, Carlyle Group and Goldman Sachs Group.


Prima is a non-life insurance intermediary, while Blackstone and Carlyle are asset management companies and Goldman Sachs operates as a global investment bank.

The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not give rise to any competition concerns, given the absence of overlaps between the companies' activities and the fact that no vertical links between the companies would result from the transaction.
