Goldman Sachs: Commission clears acquisition of EcoOnline

(CercleFinance.com) - The European Union's competition watchdog on Monday cleared the acquisition of Norvegian IT firm EcoOnline by Goldman Sachs and Swedish private equity firm Summa Equity.


The European Commission concluded that the deal would raise no competition concerns, because of the absence of significant horizontal overlaps or vertical links between the companies' businesses.

EcoOnline develops software to make workplace safety and management and documentation of chemicals as "user-friendly" and "cost-efficient" as possible.

The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure, the EU authority said.
