Ford: looking to restart production at North American plants

(CercleFinance.com) - Ford said it is aiming to restart production at key plants in North America as early as April, while introducing additional safety measures to protect returning workers.


The US carmaker said that it will resume production at its Hermosillo, Mexico plant, which builds the Ford Fusion and the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, on 6 April, in one shift.

On 14 April, Ford plans to restart vehicle production at its Dearborn and Kentucky truck plants, as well as at its Kansas City and Ohio assembly plants.

To support these plans, Ford aims to resume production at five other transmission and components plants as from next month.
