Disney: The Rise of Skywalker tops weekend box office again

(CercleFinance.com) - Disney's "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" topped the weekend box office for a second weekend in a row, according to BoxOfficeMojo.
com numbers.

The conclusion to the nine-episode saga that began in 1977 generated total ticket sales in the United States and Canada of 72 million dollars in the last three days, the website said.

Over the previous weekend, the film opened to 177.4 million dollars domestically and 198.8 million dollars internationally, for a global total of 376.2 million dollars.

The movie marks the third biggest opening of 2019, after two other Disney productions, Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Endgame" and "The Lion King."
