Caterpillar: 2nd quarter earnings per share of $5.48

(CercleFinance.com) - Caterpillar has announced its results for the second quarter of 2024.
Total sales and revenues for the second quarter of 2024 were $16.689 billion, down $629 million, or 4%, from $17.318 billion in the second quarter of 2023.

Operating profit margin was 20.9% in the second quarter of 2024, compared with 21.1% in the second quarter of 2023.

Operating profit was $3.482 billion, a decrease of $170 million, or 5%, compared with $3.652 billion in the second quarter of 2023.

Earnings per share were $5.48 in the second quarter of 2024, compared with $5.67 in the second quarter of 2023. Adjusted earnings per share in Q2 2024 were $5.99, compared with $5.55 in Q2 2023.
