American Express: to buy restaurant booking platform

(CercleFinance.com) - American Express has signed an agreement to acquire Resy, a digital restaurant booking platform, the credit card company said on Wednesday.


Founded in 2014, Resy offers a table management, CRM and booking technology suite for restaurants.

The app currently works with approximately 4,000 restaurants in 150 US cities and 10 countries, representing over 2.6 million diners a week, the company said.

AmEx said that the deal is part of a strategy that is aimed at extending its business beyond traditional rewards and points, to provide card members with access and experiences across travel and lodging, airport lounges, events, and dining.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
