American Airlines: Aer Lingus joins alliance

(CercleFinance.com) - American Airlines (AA) welcomes the decision by the US Department of Transportation allowing Aer Lingus to join the “transatlantic joint business” established between American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia and Finnair.

This transatlantic joint business has brought significant advantages to millions of passengers since its launch in 2010, indicates AA, explaining that it has allowed clients to benefit from lower prices and easier journeys to more destinations with better aligned times and frequencies.

The addition of the Dublin hub of Aer Lingus and its additional network will considerably improve clients' travel options and will add new European destinations that are not currently served by any other of the transatlantic joint business companies, said AA. Aer Lingus clients will also have access to close to 200 new US destinations through the AJB network.
