Google: acquires its first games studio for Stadia
(CercleFinance.com) - Google, key brand of the Alphabet group, announced the acquisition of its first video game development studio, to strengthen its games service, Stadia.
The group has acquired Typhoon Studios, a studio currently employing around 30 developers. Not yet a heavyweight in the business, the studio was created in January 2017 and is currently known solely for Journey to the Savage Planet, a game to be released end-January.
Nevertheless, this deal should enable Google to ramp up its Stadia service with exclusive games.
