Alphabet: a Google Bank in 2020?

(CercleFinance.com) - According to information published by the Wall Street Journal, Google is considering embarking on online banking, as part of a project internally dubbed as "Cache".

For this, the US internet giant will rely on partnerships with banks and credit institutions, hence enabling users to open current accounts and obtain payment methods. This is what Apple has set up, through its collaboration with Goldman Sachs, for its Apple Card. Google's boss, who was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, however, specifies that Google will largely concentrate on potential partnerships.

Finally, note that the Wall Street Journal says that Google could offer its neo-banking services as from 2020. Google Bank could then be directly integrated into Google Pay, the contactless payment solution from the Redmont based group.
