Alphabet: Android 10 on all smartphones after January 2020

(CercleFinance.com) - According to the trade press, Google, subsidiary of Alphabet group, will demand that the Android 10 update be pre-installed on all smartphones launched after the end of January 2020.


Without this, devices will not be able to obtain a license to install "key" Google Mobile Services, to access the Play Store or Gmail or Youtube applications, amongst others.

The company thus clearly wants to standardise Android versions on new smartphones, and force manufacturers to accelerate the pace of updates of their smartphones.
