SAS: CEO Rickard Gustafson to move to IATA

(CercleFinance.com) - SAS CEO Rickard Gustafson will lead the international airline industry's main lobby group from 2022, the first CEO of the Scandinavian airline to hold the post.


Gustafson has been elected as chairman of the board of governors of the Geneva-based International Air Transport Association, or IATA, succeeding Robin Hayes, the CEO of JetBlue Airways.

Gustafson - who is expected to take over after the Covid-19 crisis - said he will work to accelerate the indusry's transformation towards more sustainable travel and achieve climate neutral operations.

IATA represents approximately 290 airlines in 120 countries, representing over 80% of the world's airlines.
