SAS: another airline's traffic dives 78% in October

(CercleFinance.com) - SAS announced on Friday that it carried just over 600,000 passengers last month, a drop of over 78% y-o-y.

Due to a 73% reduction in capacity, the Nordic carrier's load factor fell by less, reaching 37.3%, marking a 37.9% drop from last year.

The Scandinavian airline, which remains heavily affected by the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic on the airline sector, states that these figures are broadly in line with its September traffic.

However, with a second wave of the virus in October and the subsequent tightening of travel restrictions, SAS estimates that the recovery in air transport will continue until 2022 and that it will take several years to return to pre-crisis levels.

As this kind of information is not really news in the sector at present, the SAS share is actually up 1.3% on the Stockholm Stock Exchange after these announcements were made.
