SAS: September traffic down 78%

( - Scandinavian airline SAS said on Wednesday that its traffic fell by over 78% in September, as the Covid-19 pandemic continued to negatively impact travel.

Its passenger load factor - a measure of how the carrier fills its planes - was down by 41.5 percentage points to 35.8%, following a capacity reduction of 73% compared to the same period last year.

In its statement, SAS said that demand for domestic travel continues be "stronger" than for European and Intercontinental traffic.

Yet, the shares were down 5% on the Nasdaq Nordic market after these figures were published.
